Genesis 1:1 -
2
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created
the heaven and the earth.
2a And the earth was
without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face
of the deep.
This phrase, "without form, and
void" in Hebrew is the same as the Hebrew wording used
for the phrase "in vain," in Isaiah 45:18. [Isaiah 45:18
For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God
himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath
established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it
to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.]
Note, that in Isaiah, the word, "not," is before the
phrase.
Isaiah says God created the earth, NOT
"in vain," (NOT "without form, and void") -- Genesis 1:2
says the earth was "without form, and void." So people
ask, was it or was it NOT in vain (without form, and
void).
Okay, let's look at another place in
scripture, [Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from
heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut
down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!]
Now, we see. Lucifer, was kicked out of heaven
and cast down to earth. Lucifer, of course is Satan and
is the god of this world. Okay, notice, the earth was
here when Lucifer was cast out of heaven, because earth
is where he was cast to.
Something happened
between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. Because Isaiah
45:18 tells us that the world was NOT created in vain
(NOT without form, and void), and yet, Genesis 1:2, says
the earth was without form, and void. Genesis 1:2 does
NOT say God made it "without form, and void" -- Genesis
1:2 simply states the situation with the earth was
"without form, and void".
So, what do we have
here? Well, scripture does not contradict, so clearly
something took place between these two first verses.
Could it have been Satan's departure from heaven and
entrance on earth? Could it be that that is when the
earth became without form? Void?
Take a look at
what happened next.
Now, the earth, without
form, and void, has darkness upon the face of the deep,
but the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
God comes in on something destroyed by the enemy, Satan.
And God begins to move, He begins to clean it all up.
Does this sound familiar? -
2b... And the Spirit
of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And
God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and
God divided the light from the darkness.
5 And
God called the light Day, and the darkness he called
Night. And the evening and the morning were the first
day.
Notice, that scripture describes a day to
be from evening to day light. This is how the Hebrews to
this day, see their days. From darkness to light.
(Pretty cool.)
It appears, that from the second
half of Genesis 1:2, God re-created the earth and all
that He created on it.
We true believers are
"New creations" too. Think about it, the earth was
formed not in vain, and then it became void. We were
created in the image of God, and then we were dead in
our sin. We were in darkness. No one seeks God. God does
all the doing. The natural man receiveth not the things
of God. God has to do the cleaning up. Just as with the
earth.
And what did God do for us believers? God
came in to our lives and re-created us. God's Spirit
moved upon the face of the "Living water," The Word of
God. Water is a symbol of the Word of God. God moves
upon the face of the waters and says, "Let there be
light." And the light goes on, and we were born again.
Christ Jesus came into our hearts. Christ is the Light.
Then, He separated the light from the darkness.
[Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate,
saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I
will receive you.] He cleansed us, and now we are new
creations. (Beautiful.)
6And God said, Let there
be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it
divide the waters from the waters.
7And God made
the firmament, and divided the waters which were under
the firmament from the waters which were above the
firmament: and it was so.
8And God called the
firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were
the second day.
When God recreated the world, we
have the earth and the atmosphere (the firmament) and
above that we have water. The atmosphere separates water
from water. There is water on the earth, then there was
sky, then water that was around the atmosphere. Which
means that the earth had a water canopy, which means it
would have been a huge green-house, an equal temperature
around the world. Now, when the flood came, the water
canopy would have come down. This is also when the life
span went down. Now, if this is true, we would find
remnants of tropical things in such places as the
Antarctica or the arctic circle, and remnants (fossils)
of such, have been found in these places. It has been
scientifically proven that at one time the whole world
was topical.
9And God said, Let the waters under
the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let
the dry land appear: and it was so.
10And God
called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of
the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
11And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass,
the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding
fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the
earth: and it was so.
12And the earth brought
forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and
the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after
his kind: and God saw that it was good.
13And
the evening and the morning were the third day.
14And God said, Let there be lights in the
firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the
night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and
for days, and years:
15And let them be for
lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon
the earth: and it was so.
16And God made two
great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the
lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17And God set them in the firmament of the
heaven to give light upon the earth,
18And to
rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the
light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
19And the evening and the morning were the
fourth day.
(Jesus is the Light. Believers in
Jesus Christ are lights, we are reflectors of the Light.
Like the sun in the sky is reflected by the moon in the
dark, we reflect Jesus' Light in the darkness. [That ye
may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without
rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation,
among whom ye shine as lights in the world;])
20And God said, Let the waters bring forth
abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl
that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of
heaven.
21And God created great whales, and
every living creature that moveth, which the waters
brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every
winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was
good.
22And God blessed them, saying, Be
fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas,
and let fowl multiply in the earth.
23And the
evening and the morning were the fifth day.
24And God said, Let the earth bring forth the
living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping
thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was
so.
25And God made the beast of the earth after
his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing
that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw
that it was good.
(This shows that evolution
cannot be true. Animal species stay within their own
species.)
26And God said, Let us make man in our
image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion
over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air,
and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over
every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
('us' and 'our' -- Father, Son, Holy Ghost. The
very word, "God," in Hebrew here, means a plural word.
God is Triune.)
27So God created man in his own
image, in the image of God created he him; male and
female created he them.
28And God blessed them,
and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and
replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion
over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air,
and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
(Subdue it. Before the fall of man, God gave an
assignment to man. It was man's destiny, though God knew
that man would fall. God wanted man to be a tool for
God, to subdue the earth. Yes, have fellowship with God,
but to be used by God too. It is not that God needs us,
but a blessing that we are allowed to be a tool for God.
And how are we to subdue it? Be fruitful. "Fruits of The
Spirit." Speaking Words of Fruitfulness and life, as
believers.)
30And to every beast of the earth,
and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that
creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have
given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
31And God saw every thing that he had made, and,
behold, it was very good. And the evening and the
morning were the sixth day.
Genesis chapter 2
Genesis chapter 2, zeros in on the creation of
man and mentions the creation of man before the
mentioning of the creation of Animals. This confuses
some people. But, if we read Genesis 1 and 2 in faith,
faith that God does not contradict, we see something.
God created the animals and man on the same day, the
sixth day. The only specific thing God says in relation
to timing, is that He brought the animals to Adam, which
of course would have been after Adam was created. But,
neither chapter 1 or chapter 2 specifically says which
of the two creations, He created first, man? or the
animals?
Chocolate chip cookies: All in one day,
I mixed two separate mixtures. There was a mixture of
flower, salt, and baking soda -- and there was a mixture
of butter, sugars, egg, and vanilla. The more complex of
the two mixtures was the sugar mixture. The sugar
mixture was more detailed, I had to let the butter get a
little soft, there were two sugars and the brown sugar
had to be packed--the butter and sugars were mixed first
and then I put in the egg and vanilla. I needed to put
chocolate chips in too. And I made the flower mixture. I
"brang to" (added to) the sugar mixture, the flower,
salt, and baking soda mixture. Once both mixtures were
together, it was clear to see that something was still
missing, that being the chocolate chips, of course. Now,
question... What mixture did I create first? The sugar
mixture or the flower mixture? In the beginning of this
paragraph, I mention the flower mixture first, then the
sugar one. Then when I went into more details, I mention
the sugar one first and then the flower mixture was
mentioned, just before I said I brought it to the sugar
mixture. But, which did I actually make first? Well, I
mixed the flower mixture ahead of time and sat it aside
till I was finished making the sugar mixture. I had the
flower mixture all ready to mix into the sugar mixture.
I simply in the second mentioning of the mixtures, spoke
of the flower mixture second because I mixed it with
(brought it to) the sugar mixture after the sugar
mixture was made, but before the chocolate chips were
added.
Hence, God could have made the animals
first and simply further on, when God was going into
details about the creation of man, TOLD about the
creation of animals after God told about the creation of
man, because it was after God created man, that God
brought the animals to Adam, and it also showed man's
need for a woman.
